The Millard Classic Fishing Competition was held on Bunbury’s Aquaspectacular weekend and saw around 150 competitors vie for over $10,000 worth of prizes. This year the competition included fishing both offshore and onshore which saw a big increase in the number of participants entering the competition.
The competitions top prize, a Lowrance GPS Sounder worth $3500, was a Mystery Prize which all competitors went into the draw to win, and a big congratulations goes to Mario Santella for being the lucky winner. Other prize winning catches on the day include a 16.9kg dhufish, a 8.9kg snapper, a 2.2kg skippy and 1.1kg king george whiting.
The Department of Fisheries was on site to measure and monitor the catch and took away some important data.
Next year we are planning for the Millard Classic Fishing Competition to be even bigger and better, so make sure you plan to be in Bunbury for the next Aquaspectacular weekend.
